History

Over 65 years, Mitchell, Wiggins has grown into one of the largest independent CPA and consulting firms in Central Virginia, with offices in Richmond and Petersburg and approximately sixty personnel. As our clients’ needs have changed and grown, so have our service offerings. We have dedicated staff with the experience to provide timely and efficient audits, tax filings, estate plans, valuation and other accounting services. Other areas of concentration within our firm include not-for-profit organizations, manufacturing, automobile dealerships, construction and real estate, healthcare, business valuations and estates/trusts.

Client Relationships

Many of our clients have been with us for 60 years or more. We equate diligence with quality, and personal service with excellence, and our enduring relationships are a testament to that philosophy. We have never focused on being the best known firm in Virginia, and yet our clients remain loyal and our relationships strong. The reason is simple:

Our People

The only new faces you are likely to see at Mitchell, Wiggins & Company LLP are a result of our growth. Our focus on ethics, accuracy, and relationships extends to our internal culture, and the result has been a remarkably stable work force. Our eleven partners possess an average of more than 26 years in the industry, and a majority have been with Mitchell, Wiggins & Company LLP since graduating from college. The core members of our office support staff, also, have been with us for an average of more than 20 years. Our younger staff members, therefore, benefit from the mentoring of experienced personnel throughout Mitchell, Wiggins & Company LLP, and from relationships with clients that develop over many years.
