Our primary emphasis involves working with well-developed internal teams. We recruit primarily at the college level to continuously build pools of talent to service clients.

Curious about the CPA exam, busy season hours, what an audit is really like?  Get all of your answers and then more at our one-day externship program!  You will get to talk one on one with Mitchell Wiggins team members about the variety of clients and work that they do, how the firm promotes professional development and work life balance all while providing great service to our long-standing client base.  Meet everyone from interns to partners throughout the day, and maybe a few clients too!  We are looking for driven accounting students that are interested in interning or working in public accounting.  Spaces are limited and the event is invitation only, so apply today!

David first learned about the accounting field as early as eighth grade.  A career fair at a local high school left quite an impression and his love of math and desire to become a businessman made the path clear.  At James Madison University, David’s choice was reinforced by excellent accounting and business training.  David serves as partner-in-charge of firm recruiting and is an alumna of James Madison University.

Carman started college pursuing a degree in marketing but after excelling in Principles of Accounting decided to pursue a career in accounting.  Her favorite part of being a CPA is getting to work on a variety of industries, from non-profits to car dealerships to financial institutions. She is an alumna of Longwood University and regularly visits campus for recruiting alumni mentoring.

Carla brings more than 12 years of experience overseeing business management and HR for growing small business. Carla is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the day-to-day operations of the Firm.  In addition, she serves as the Firm HR Director overseeing recruitment, personnel and benefit administration and policy development. Carla is from Venezuela and is bilingual (Spanish/English).  She is an alumna of George Mason University.

Melissa knew she wanted to be a CPA at the age of thirteen when she would go to work with her mother and help with the company’s bookkeeping.  Melissa is instrumental in attracting and developing talent through our annual Engage Program, a leadership program providing students with real hands-on experiences in public accounting. She is an alumna of Bridgewater College.

Eligibility Requirements:
The internship is available to those currently majoring in Accounting, receiving an undergraduate degree in 2021 or 2022, and who haven’t already accepted a full-time job offer after graduation.
